The C-Tug Trolley | Our Review

If you’re in the market for a kayak trolley the range of available brands can feel overwhelming. Which suits your requirement will largely come down to the boat, distance to travel and budget.  One piece of good advice is to be wary of prices that seem too good to be true.  Bargain tubular aluminium options often use thin wall material that bends easily.  We recall one customer tell us his trolley had snapped, piercing the kayak!

For those unfamiliar, we think this is one of those products that is so good we’d like to tell you a bit more about it.  The C-Tug trolley is amazingly versatile and fits perfectly on sea kayaks, open canoes and sit on top kayaks. The large rubber pads grip the hull and do a great job of protecting your boat from damage.  The crucial factor is that these are adjustable to almost any angle and thus fit a wide range of hull shapes from absolutely flat to those with a well defined keel. A small folding stand helps to keep the C-Tug level while loading. 

Putting together and dismantling the trolley couldn’t be easier. It doesn’t have any small fiddly parts which makes it a pleasure to do, even with cold hands.  Once in place, you simply secure the kayak using the included strap.

As well as the simple nature of use and storage one of the main benefits of the C-Tug is the lack of an inflatable tyre.  The rigid wheel means absolutely no maintenance, which I’m sure is something we all love.  The wheel is durable and its rubber tread effective in offering grip.
