DSMBs & REELS
A good quality DSMB or SMB is an essential piece of kit as it alerts other water uses like boats and jet skies etc. that there are divers below and to stay away. They come in several different sizes and colours to suit all needs. Smaller 1m long DSMB’s are perfect for the travelling diver as they are compact and easy to carry. They are also easy to deploy from a 5m safety stop ensuring they are full on the surface avoiding the dreaded limp sausage syndrome.
Orange DSMB’s are generally the norm as they indicate a diver below and all is OK, however we do also carry yellow DSMB’s for use in emergency when your deco requirements don’t allow a direct accent to the surface
