Not all our customers feel comfortable to simply purchase a kayak, canoe or SUP and head to the water.  Of course, we’re here to help with advice on locations, technique and safety.  However, it is also simple to arrange a local session with a professional coach to boost your skills and confidence. All equipment is provided but it is also possible to use your new purchases, ensuring you have confidence in setup, safety and technique.

Depending on your preferred discipline, whether kayak, canoe or SUP, we have instructors in store, as well as a range of respected affiliated coaches.  An excellent example of the latter would be Lynne from Learn To Paddle.  Being Leeds based makes Lynne an excellent choice for local paddlers.  With a full fleet or kayaks, canoes and paddle boards you're sure to get the most from any session, whether you choose a fun family paddle experience, or a 20km kayak along the coast!  Safety is a must and we have absolute confidence to recommend Lynne, with just a few of her current qualifications listed below:

  • Sheltered Water Coach Level 2
  • Sea Kayak Level 3
  • REC level 3 Outdoor First Aid
  • Coastal Navigation and Trip Planning
  • Mental Health First Aid
  • Whitewater Safety and Rescue
  • Foundation Safety and Rescue
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Child Protection.

All the staff at Robin Hood Watersports are passionate to help you enjoy the water, both through selection of appropriate equipment and with training.  For more information on taster sessions, confidence boosters and more please get in touch here.
