This boom is in very good condition and shows little signs of wear. There is some marking from where the harness lines have been attached and the boom has been sat on the beach, all of which you'd expect on a used boom. Overall the condition of the boom is 8/10. Description

VT-Joint The NeilPryde VT-Joint provides a stiffer boom connection and a more responsive transmission of the sails’ power while protecting the mast.

Using the VT-Joint has several key benefits: * increases contact area from the boom attachment to the mast. * it can be used on any standard diameter mast (excluding RDM’s) without the need for a shim. * reduces chance of point loading. * minimises ‘play’ between the boom and mast connection

The mast cup interior of the VT-Joint has been carefully contoured to create a V shape.

The V shape accommodates variation in standard mast diameters without the need for a shim. Slightly thinner masts simply sit further into the V while fatter ones sit lower down. The change in shape provides a 2nd point of contact between the cup and the mast creating a tighter connection and a greater transmission of power than ever before.

The VT-Joint is now standard on all new NeilPryde booms with an oversized mast cup material composition tailored to suit each boom type:

S-Shape Profile - In contrast to a traditional boom that has convex and straight outline sections, all X3 booms and 140 & 160 X9 boom lengths have an S shape concave section at the highest loading point (the back hand section). With traditional booms, as there is more force at the backhand section, (such as when landing jumps or sailing overpowered), a straight/ convex outline is free to bend out, making the boom feel soft and actually making the sail profile deeper as the boom gets shorter. On the “S” boom this force is applied against the concave “S” section resulting in much improved stiffness as well as keeping the sail profile stable as the boom length does not change under load.

Forged Aluminum Head - Pressure Flow Forging – an innovative technology that allows for shaping of exceptionally stiff aluminium tubing. By applying this technology on all our X3 booms, the NeilPryde R&D team have managed to create the lightest, strongest and most rigid aluminium booms available on the market. ‘Pressure Flow Forging’ represents a real breakthrough in boom shaping as the metal is allowed to ‘flow’ rather than stretch into shape. Fluid is injected at very high pressure into the aluminum tube that causes it to expand until it matches an external female mold. This process increases the density of the aluminum in all areas and provides the ability to control wall thickness, allowing for the creation of complex shapes that result in a far stronger head. Further, we chose to put the boom arms inside the head tube and this results in an outside diameter of the head being increased and bringing a further increase in rigidity and strength. As a final production process, this already high tech piece is heat tempered to create highest stiffness and strength.

Twin-Pin Lever Actuated Trim Lock Adjustment System

Featured on all booms for ease of adjustment (except the X9 race booms). The Twin-Pin design provides optimal load distribution and a stiff connection between the boom body and tail end.

Your Delivery

The range of products we offer means there is nothing standard about our deliveries. We use a range of couriers, including DHL, UPS and Royal Mail. While the site may state 3-5 days, most in stock items going to mainland UK locations will arrive at your door in 1-2 days.

On receipt of an order, the relevant specialist staff member will contact you to confirm the stock situation and expectation around shipping time. This gives you a direct contact for any requests and advice that might be helpful.

When courier services are used, you can expect tracking information and estimated arrival times to be communicated via email. However, always feel free to contact our staff at any point should you require assistance.

Receiving your order

When you receive your item(s), please check to see if there is any damage. Once the drivers manifest has been signed it voids any insurance claim. If you are unsure, please sign as "damaged", which will allow you/us to make a claim later on if required.

If you suspect that your goods are damaged please take the time to check the items with the driver present or refuse the package and ask the courier to return to sender.

Returns

Sometimes things don’t go to plan and you might feel the need to arrange a return. If you receive an order and find you have changed your mind, or the item just isn’t right for you, don’t worry. Goods can be returned for a refund within 30 days from the date of purchase (subject to our product exclusions). The process for both in store and mail order purchases can be seen below:

Postal Returns Procedure

If posting your return please email [email protected] for approval, as well as any advice required prior to sending. You would then simply ship the unwanted goods to our 152 Leeds Road address, including a copy of your original receipt and information on the required course of action.

Purchases from store

If you bought goods from our Heckmondwike based store you may, at our discretion, be able to return items within 30 days for a full refund, as long as they have not been used and still have the original labels attached. Please bring the items back to the shop, together with your receipt. Any refund can only be made using the same method as the original transaction.

Goods must be returned in an unused, re-saleable condition, with their original packaging, and all labels still attached. They should also be securely packaged to ensure the contents are protected during transit. Our Returns Team will review all items to ensure they meet the criteria outlined in this policy. If an item is returned outside of our Returns Policy, we may be unable to process a full refund. We will contact you in such circumstances.

Product Exclusions

There are some exclusions to our Returns Policy, as detailed below:

Personalised or customised items, such as custom canoes, made to measure drysuits etc.
Gift vouchers cannot be returned
Products that have been opened or unsealed cannot be returned
Products returned in an unsatisfactory condition cannot be returned
Products which have been damaged in return transit due to insufficient packaging cannot be returned

This Return Policy does not affect your statutory rights.
