Our Staff Pick. The Goya Slim Base Pro is a completely new, ground-up redesign. It is lighter, stronger and more ergonomic than its predecessor, with a cleaner design that flows seamlessly from the deck of the board into the base of the mast.
But this is far more than a cosmetic refresh. Goya has spent over a year pushing the new base to its limits, sailing in all conditions and testing it extensively to ensure that the critical connection between board and rig delivers uncompromising strength and safety.
The result is a base that combines a remarkably slim profile with a simpler, more efficient construction. Fewer components mean less weight, fewer potential failure points and a design that stays out of the way while working consistently from every angle.
Designed Around What Matters
Goya's design philosophy is simple: include only what is truly needed, then make every component lighter, stronger and more efficient. That approach is evident throughout the Slim Base Pro, from its 316 stainless steel hardware to its integrated safety system.
The new base is designed to deliver dependable performance across the full range of windsurfing disciplines, from wave and freestyle sailing to freeride, race and foil.
Internal Dyneema Safety Rope
One of the most important features of the new Slim Base Pro is its internal double-loop Dyneema safety rope. Should the tendon fail, the rope is designed to keep the board and rig connected, allowing you to sail back to shore.
For us, this is a particularly important feature. The mast base is a critical connection, and Goya has clearly prioritised safety alongside weight reduction and performance.
New Tendon Design
The black TPU tendon is designed for durability and improved UV resistance. Its unique shape allows it to flex from the middle, rather than concentrating the force around the connection bolts. This helps distribute the load more effectively and makes it easier to identify wear or degradation during inspection.
As with any tendon system, regular inspection is essential. Goya recommends checking the tendon flex, connection points and screws, particularly as humid conditions, warm climates and intensive use can influence tendon lifespan.
Flow Drain Disc
The Flow Drain Disc is an absorber disc made from Nylon, featuring precision-cut holes that allow water to drain away and help prevent pooling in the mast track. The holes also provide a useful visual reference for positioning the base correctly on the mast track.
When it is time to remove the base, the holes also provide a practical quick-release solution. A Goya Windsurfing batten tensioner key can be inserted into the holes to provide extra leverage, making it easier to unscrew the base.
Clean, Refined Construction
The Slim Base Pro uses fewer pieces to reduce weight and potential failure points. Every component has been designed to be slim, aligned and functional, creating a base that is visually refined without compromising its purpose.
All metal components are made from 316 stainless steel, while the plastic base plate is constructed from Nylon. The absorber disc features a pressed EVA grip surface, and the internal safety rope uses Dyneema with a double loop and triple knots.

Receiving your order
When you receive your item(s), please check to see if there is any damage. Once the drivers manifest has been signed it voids any insurance claim. If you are unsure, please sign as "damaged", which will allow you/us to make a claim later on if required.
If you suspect that your goods are damaged please take the time to check the items with the driver present or refuse the package and ask the courier to return to sender.

Sometimes things don’t go to plan and you might feel the need to arrange a return. If you receive an order and find you have changed your mind, or the item just isn’t right for you, don’t worry. Goods can be returned for a refund within 30 days from the date of purchase (subject to our product exclusions). The process for both in store and mail order purchases can be seen below:
Postal Returns Procedure
If posting your return please email [email protected] for approval, as well as any advice required prior to sending. You would then simply ship the unwanted goods to our 152 Leeds Road address, including a copy of your original receipt and information on the required course of action.
Purchases from store
If you bought goods from our Heckmondwike based store you may, at our discretion, be able to return items within 30 days for a full refund, as long as they have not been used and still have the original labels attached. Please bring the items back to the shop, together with your receipt. Any refund can only be made using the same method as the original transaction.
Goods must be returned in an unused, re-saleable condition, with their original packaging, and all labels still attached. They should also be securely packaged to ensure the contents are protected during transit. Our Returns Team will review all items to ensure they meet the criteria outlined in this policy. If an item is returned outside of our Returns Policy, we may be unable to process a full refund. We will contact you in such circumstances.
Product Exclusions
There are some exclusions to our Returns Policy, as detailed below:
- Personalised or customised items, such as custom canoes, made to measure drysuits etc.
- Gift vouchers cannot be returned
- Products that have been opened or unsealed cannot be returned
- Products returned in an unsatisfactory condition cannot be returned
- Products which have been damaged in return transit due to insufficient packaging cannot be returned
This Return Policy does not affect your statutory rights.
