Boat | Advanced riders | 3-stage rocker | High performance
The Ronix One Blackout is a high end boat wakeboard aimed at advanced riders who want to maximise vertical pop and time in the air. Its 3-stage rocker is designed to produce a strong, explosive lift from the wake, making it particularly well suited to riders who want to take their jumping and inverted aerial tricks higher.
This is a boat specific model, so it is not suited to use at the cable. The One combines its aggressive 3-stage rocker with a wider outline and lightweight core, giving it a stable platform that planes easily at slower speeds and provides a larger sweet spot for the rider.
Who is the Ronix One Blackout for?
We would recommend the One Blackout to an advanced boat rider who is already comfortable jumping the wake and wants a board that prioritises vertical lift and hang time. It is particularly suited to riders progressing bigger tricks who want a more explosive take-off than a continuous-rocker board can provide.
The wider outline and forgiving core make the One more approachable than its aggressive rocker might suggest, but this is still a high-performance board aimed at experienced riders. It is not the board we would recommend as a first wakeboard or for someone still learning the basics of jumping. At that level, we'd recommend saving money and looking elsewhere. Of course, our staff are on hand to offer any advice you might need.
How does the One Blackout ride?
The defining characteristic of the One is its 3-stage rocker. Rather than maintaining a continuous curve from tip to tail, the centre section of the board runs relatively flat before the rocker increases towards the tips. This creates a more pronounced lift from the wake and gives the board its characteristic vertical take-off.
The One is designed to load hard against the wake and release with plenty of upward drive. This makes it a good choice for riders who prioritise height and hang time rather than simply carrying speed and travelling further into the flats.
On the water, the wider outline provides additional stability and gives the rider a larger sweet spot. It also helps the board plane effectively at slower boat speeds, which can be useful for riders who don't want to rely on high boat speeds to get the most from their board.
Despite the aggressive rockerline, the One has been designed to retain a relatively soft and predictable landing. This gives the rider the benefit of a reactive take-off without making every landing feel excessively harsh.
Pre-Tension Glass
For 2027, the One uses Ronix's Pre-Tension Glass construction. The fibreglass fibres are pre-loaded during manufacture before they are placed into the mould. The aim is to create a stiffer, more reactive board through the take-off while retaining a softer and more predictable landing.
This is particularly relevant to the One's riding characteristics, as the board needs to respond quickly when loaded against the wake without becoming unnecessarily harsh once the rider comes back down.
Blackout Technology
The One uses Ronix's lightweight Blackout Technology construction. Reducing the weight of the board helps keep it responsive and makes it easier for the rider to control during aerial tricks.
The combination of the lightweight construction and 3-stage rocker gives the One its energetic feel, while the wider outline and forgiving core provide additional stability beneath the rider.
