The GT-11 units quickly became the benchmark in GPS technology through 2007/2008 offering the highest levels of accuracy delivered in a user friendly, reliable and cost effective format. The GT-31 continues this, now offering even better performance and a far extended power range utilising a new low-power chip set, running for up to 61 hours if set in the correct mode!
There's a whole host of uses with the GT's easily being capable of handling all outdoor activities, but it's also designed with the professional in mind with programmable alerts to warn against the likes of speed limits, hazard zone areas and altitude etc... the number of features & settings are mind boggling!
We of course use these predominantly for speed sailing and kit tuning where it offers the user both instant readouts and accurate data logging for analysis and manipulation afterwards - Note that various applications can be downloaded online.
Operation of the unit itself is simple by means of a state-of-the-art thumb-stick allowing for one handed operation. The unit is waterproof to IPX7 standards (1m depth for 30mins) and it floats! Please note that when windsurfing where some 'force' can be asserted when crashing, it is important to use a waterproof case to offer adequate protection.
The easiest way to store and retrieve data is to utilise a SD memory card as that has basically limitless storage capability for the type of data logged by a GPS. Then by using a SD card reader it easy to access and transfer the data.
