Equipment needed

You will need the following equipment:

  • scissors
  • valves
  • aquafix/aquasure glue.
Screw back off valve   Screw the back off the inflator or adjustable dump valve so that you have the two parts of the valve as shown.
  Push plate out

Push the plate out of the back of the valve.

You should now have all three parts of the valve:
  Valve parts
  • top part of valve
  • centre plate
  • back part of valve
Position centre plate   Position the centre plate where the valve is to be fitted and draw round the inside of the plate. Replace the centre plate into the back part of the valve.
Cut out hole   Cut out the hole that you marked.
Clean valve   Clean the valve with thinners where marked.
  Glue valve

Glue the valve where marked.

Be careful to avoid getting any glue on the thread of the valve.

Push valve through suit   Push the valve through the hole in the suit so that the glued face sticks to the outside of the drysuit. On the inside of the valve, make sure that the fabric does not go up the thread. Put the washer on the valve and firmly screw the valve back together.
Fitted valve   The valve is now fitted in the required place.
